I’m Katie, a 30 something living in the Texas Hill Country. I was born and raised in New York (Long Island to be exact) and grew up a beach loving, bagel eating kid from a small town with a great family and a tight knit group of friends. Throughout the next decade, I headed to Virginia for college, spent a semester abroad in Australia, moved back up to Long Island, got my first job, met my (now) husband, moved to Texas, got a puppy, bought a house and got engaged. Wow! Busy ten years!
In 2011, I married Gamini and danced the day away on the south shore of Long Island. I had no idea what marriage was all about, but I was excited for what was to come. I continued my life in Texas, got a job as a marketing manager, and spent weekends working on my house, attempting to garden and lots of time on the river with my two fur babies, Cooper and Finn.
And then my life changed in the best way possible.
In June of 2015, I welcomed the sweetest gift God has ever given me into the world, Layla Mary. She filled a hole in my heart that I didn’t know existed, and has provided more laughs, tears and joy than I could ever have imagined possible. While having a baby certainly has its challenges, I can honestly say it has strengthened my marriage in so many ways. Gam and I both want to provide Layla with the best life possible and that includes lots of happy memories, laughs and most importantly love.
