Make Ahead French Toast
Make Ahead French Toast – Creme brulee style. It sounds complicated but it’s NOT. The beauty of this dish is how easy it is to impress your brunch guests. With only a little bit of effort. It’s genius. You start the night before, by throwing a few ingredients together, slicing up some challah bread and covering it with the milky, egg-y cinnamon-y goodness that makes french toast, well, french toast. You let it sit overnight and simply pop it in the oven in the morning and BAM. Easy no fuss brunch meal that will have your guests wondering where in the world did you find the time!
I am a lover of all things breakfast. Before I could actually cook, I claimed breakfast making in my house. I was a champion pancake and french toast maker. In my eyes anyway. I’m not sure about everyone else, but that’s not an important detail at the moment, obviously. Sheesh. I still love making breakfast, but now that I have a walking accident waiting to happen, (otherwise known as a toddler), I don’t exactly have as much time on my hands. So anything that can just be popped into the oven is a win in my eyes. Enter make ahead french toast.
dreaming of casually thinking about doing an overnight french toast bake for awhile now. And I could have just done a regular french toast, I’m sure it would have been quite tasty. But then I had creme brulee french toast at brunch and O.M.G. you guys was that good. I pretty much licked my plate clean, and, well, no one needs to see that. So I hunkered down to see if I could duplicate it, or at least come close because this brunch place is about as cool as can be and 45 minutes from my house, so, yeah, not getting there much these days due to aforementioned walking accident/toddler. So, duplicate I will! Or at least try. It’s not exactly the same. I’ll have to play around. Their’s was skinner and kind of dense. It wasn’t quite as liquidy as mine. So I”ll keep on trying. But for now, this was good. Like really good, Like you can offer to host a brunch good. So make it, and then take all the compliments and tell everyone how long you slaved in the kitchen over this. Maybe your guests will bring gifts as a thank you, for all of your time spent in the kitchen 😉
